Many students choose their future profession not because of their own желания or dreams, but because their parents choose it for them.

In such situations, parents often say they know better, that they have more experience, and that children should listen to their elders.

It’s a complicated issue. Sometimes a young person действительно may not be able to fully assess their abilities, talents, or future prospects. In that sense, parents try to protect them from possible mistakes.

However, quite often a student, under pressure, studies for a profession they don’t truly like. As a result, after graduating, they may end up with just a diploma and several years that feel wasted. In the worst case, they work in a job they dislike and feel unhappy because of it.
